Ramblings on Fantasy Football

I have been doing Fantasy Football for years now. Probably since I was a freshman in High School which has now been almost 13 years! It all started with www.smallworld.com. Does anybody remember that? I think it has turned into cbssportsline.com now. Smallworld.com was a salary cap game meaning you get a certain amount of money to spend on a certain amount of positions. Throughout the year you set your lineup, but can only spend the amount of money you have left, or that you get from selling a player. The more users that buy a player, their price goes up and vice versa.
The year that got me into it I remember clearly as being Randy Moss' rookie year in the NFL. One week I actually had a team that finished 1st in points and another 8th. Needless to say, i was under 18 so I didn't get my free SmallWorld.com hat.
Do you all remember the days of Randy Moss, Marshall Faulk, Steve Young, Randall Cunningham, Garrison Hearst. Ahhh, the good ole days of Fantasy Football.
Now I play upwards of 5 or 6 teams that I had to pay to enter a league, and another 15-20 free teams. I usually end up breaking even every year by losing all but one league.
This year, my best team is about to go 4-0 in a 12 team work league. Right now I have AP and Greg Jennings still to play tonight and I'm up 18 points against a team that has nobody left. That roster is:
  • QB: Matt Schaub
  • RB: Adrian Petterson, Pierre Thomas, Leon Washington, Ahmad Bradshaw, James Harrison, Jonathan Stewart
  • WR: Greg Jennings, Calvin Johnson, Vincent Jackson, Percy Harvin, Desean Jackson
  • TE: Zach Miller
  • K: Josh Scoobe
Don't ask me how I ended up with that team. I still don't know how AP fell to me with the 3rd pick, and I am kicking everyone's butt with Greg Jennings and Calvin Johnson not really doing anything, nor with Pierre Thomas doing anything for the 1st 2 weeks.

Thoughts?
I will continue to write about my thoughts of the season.
